How to get  your two seat Gyroplane Pilot Permit in Canada

Transport Canada Requirements without an airplane, glider or helicopter licence.

(1)  Obtain your aviation medical

(2)   Obtain your student pilot licence

(3) Complete 45 hours flight experience including

(a) 12 hours duel

(b) 12 hours solo

(c) Pass the PSTAR exam prior to going solo

(d) Complete 40 hours of ground school

(e) Pass the GYROP exam (60% pass mark )prior to completing your flight test

 

Your flight test can be completed when you have 30 hours of flight experience.

 

If you have an airplane or helicopter licence you get a credit of 15 hours

which reduces your total hours to 30 hours however, you still require a minimum

of 12 hours duel and 8 hours solo.

 

If you have an Aeroplane, Helicopter or Glider licence then you can complete your licence test flight prior to doing the 8 hours of solo. Once you get your solo completed, you can then send in your TC application for a gyroplane permit.
